I'm a new user to SAS and I have windows vista installed on my new laptop. I have SAS LEARNING EDITION 2.O but its not compatible with vista. Is there a way I can get into some remote site to run sas programs. I just need to have a feel of how everything works and how they run and get an idea of everything. I've been reading the little sas book but I need to start running some commands over the computer. I just need the basic sas window that has the basic three windows, editor, log and output windows, so that I can run a few commands. Is this possible..? Thank You.

Hi,

I Hope SAS software is not compatable with vista O/S. Please try to install it in any of other o/s like XP, 2000, server etc, it will work and you then can execute sample programs.

Vista (and XP for that matter) allows you to install an application such that the program interpreter thinks the OS is XP. Search on "Compatibility Mode" +Vista.

I've been running 9.13 on Vista this way for a year now, without any problems.
